About Us

Sunderland LGBT+ Network is Sunderland’s largest LGBT+ organisation. Aside from their daily work in striding for equality across the City, our team made up of amazing volunteers runs a range of services, including events, support groups, training courses, hate crime reporting, information and resources and much more.

On a yearly basis, the team organise Sunderland’s largest diversity celebration event, Sunderland Pride. Since the first event in 2011, Sunderland Pride has attracted thousands of people to the City Centre each year.
Sunderland LGBT+ Network is managed by a board of directors made up of local residents and members of the LGBT+ community across the North East.
Together with our sister organisation Sunderland Pride Centre who is a registered charity in England and Wales under number 1150437.

We work together to work towards our objectives which are to: carry out activities which benefit the local residents and community by raising awareness of discrimination and the impact of stigma and hate crime, as well as help alleviate social isolation and help those impacted by LGBT+ issues, including health, sexual and mental health. We do this by organising events and encouraging volunteering.

Each year we arrange Sunderland Pride and this year should be Spectacular! To find out more visit the Sunderland Pride page.
